Last summer I blew out the tires on my road bike. They were kind of thin, and commonly punctured by the tack-shaped goat head thorns that we have everywhere in Loveland, CO. Fast forward to now, I am on the way to replacing all of my bicycle tires with solid tires, and I would recommend them to everyone. This post will cover what solid tires are and why they are awesome.

Window well covers
In the winter, the window well right next to my desk tends to fill with snow, and the area near the window where I work becomes unpleasantly cold. Our house had steel mesh window well covers to keep animals out, but this year I decided to replace them with clear…
Pegboards for home office
My office is a small desk against a window in between two cabinets, so I 3D-printed some brackets to hang the pegboard from the cabinets, as well as a couple useful things to hang on them.
Steam Deck stand with removable dock
I wanted a Steam Deck stand but couldn’t find any that met all of my requirements, so I designed my own. This stand holds the system at a 10 degree angle and has a replaceable USB-C dock mounting bracket.
Star chart magnet board
My friends recently had a baby, and I made them this magnet board as a gift. It’s an idea that I have been thinking about for a while as a gift to commemorate an important occasion.
The stars on the magnet board are arranged as a stereoscopic projection of the sky as you would have seen it (ignoring the atmosphere) if you were to turn North and look up when and where their baby was born, and the reflective area each star points is proportional the absolute magnitude of the star it represents.
King of Flavor MSG shaker
My wife and I are fans of Nigel Ng and particularly like his Uncle Roger videos, so my brother Morgan Jones and I made her an orange-polo-shaped MSG shaker as a gift for her birthday.
TTRPG loot generator API
Treasure tables are a good way of either getting through writer’s block or coming up with interesting loot during a game without the need to lay out a whole region full of treasure, but the process of rolling on a loot table is sometimes too slow to do while playing. This is a first-draft REST API in C# built on ASP.NET MVC and MySQL that provides the tabletop role-playing game treasure table experience in a way that could be incorporated into a website.
New catwalk for Kiki
Our cat, Kiki, likes to sit and look out our front window. This is a replacement catwalk for her that is compatible with our new vinyl windows.
Dry bar and stemware shelves
I repaired a credenza and made a pair of shelves to make a dry bar corner.
Fixing a jammed PS4 disc drive
When I went to load a game for the first time in this PS4, the slot drive blocked my disc. This drive has a little wall that it lifts up so that you don’t accidentally stick a disc in while the disc in the drive is spinning, but this drive had a bit of an underbite. That wall was jammed above its intended position and was locking the rest of the mechanism.
